CMLL (FRI) 08/01/2014 Arena México [CMLL, CMLL (highlights), MT (5), MT (6), MT (rest), Porta Fresa (men), Porta Fresa (semi), Porta Fresa (women), R de Rudo, RobViper (music video), Yahoo! Deportes]
***Juicio Final, 2014***
1) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa b Puma, Skándalo, Tiger
Cometa hurt a foot, took the boot off the foot, and still beat Puma with a torito.
2) Ephesto, Euforia, Mephisto b Blue Panther, La Máscara, Máximo
Rudos took 2/3. Mephisto's return from injury. Maximo was hurt by the end of the match.
3) Marcela & Princesa Sugehit b La Seductora & Princesa Blanca [mask, hair] * * (posted by luchablog vault (Google Drive)) JUICIO FINAL 2014 MASCARA Y CABELLERA VS MASCARA Y CABELLERA (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Rudas took the first, tecnicas the second. Third saw Seductora beat Marcela, but Sugehit beat Seductora and Blanca herself to win. Blanca blamed referee Bestia Negra for the loss and knocked him out with a kick. (Can't suspend a retired woman!) Blanca and Seductora tried escaping without taking their punishments, but were forced to return. La Seductora is Irene Laguna, a 23 year vet from Guerrero. CMLL notes Blanca's retirement was an official stipulation, but she declared she was really done.
4) Volador Jr. b La Sombra © [NWA WELTER] * (posted by luchablog vault (Google Drive)) JUICIO FINAL 2014 MASCARA Y CABELLERA VS MASCARA Y CABELLERA (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Volador took falls 1/3 to win the title. Usual absurdly short starting falls, then a 20+ minute one to end it. Sombra's falls on first defense. Volador holds this belt for the 2nd time, and is the 7th/63rd champion (and gains entry into the Universal tournament, at least for the moment.) Volador repeated his challenge for a hair versus mask match to Sombra, who was non-comittal.
5) Rey Escorpión, Shocker, Último Guerrero DQ Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Máscara Dorada *
Mascara Dorada replaced Titan (injury.) Straight falls. Ultimo Guerrero got away with a mask pull in the first, then Atlantis was caught pulling UG's mask in the second. Atlatnis declared the Atlantis/UG mask match will happen on the CMLL 81st Anniversary show. UG demanded this made official, and Panico did - the match will take place on 09/19.
6) Rush b Negro Casas [hair] * * (posted by luchablog vault (Google Drive))
Rush won the first with the corner dropkick. Sombra tried to help out with a chair shot, but Casas still took the second with a casita. Rush used a ref distraction to foul Casas in the third. Rush's 5th hair win, 2nd this year. Negro's 9th known hair match defeat. Ingobernables celebrated with champagne and humiliated Casas after the match.

tecnicos take fall 1/3.
2) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano b Brazo de Plata, Hijo del Fantasma, Valiente

3) Diamante, Hijo del Signo, Negro Casas b Blue Panther, Fuego, Pólvora [Forjando un Idolo] *
Team Negro Casas took the last two falls. They advance to next week's final, a bit of redemption after neither Diamante nor Signo made the semifinals in the individual version of this tournament. Fuego & Polvora continue to get approval for their team work.
4) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. DQ Ángel de Oro, Rey Escorpión, Último Guerrero [Forjando un Idolo] * (posted by luchablog vault (Google Drive))
Guerrero Maya worked against Ultimo Guerrero in the opening mat work and impressed. Straight falls for the Atlantis crew. Big tease of UG vs Atlantis in the second, Atlantis got UG in the Atlantida, and Rey Escorpion fouled him for the DQ. Atlantis & UG were fine after the match, but Oro & Ultimo Guerrero were angry at Rey Escorpion again. Escorpion kissed UG's boots to apologize. Team Shocker/Atlantis goes onto next week's final.
5) La Sombra, Rush, Strong Man b Mephisto, Mr. Niebla, Shinsuke Nakamura
Tecnicos took 2/3. Mephisto was wearing an Averno/Mephisto fused mask. Tirantes refereed this match, but not the main event.
6) La Máscara b Averno [mask] * (posted by luchablog vault (Google Drive)) 20110617cmll_televisa_match6La Máscara vs Averno for the mask (posted by thecubsfan (DailyMotion))
Babe Richard was the referee. Big entrances for both men. Mascara had Brazo de Oro in his corner, Averno had both Ephesto and Mephisto walk with him to the ring, though Ephesto went to the back during the match. Other wrestlers were watching the match, Shocker most visibly. Mascara started the match with the Brazo de Oro/Mascara split mask he'd worn in some of the vignettes, but also started the match with a tope towards Averno. Averno was ready, and hit Mascara with a metal object, causing Mascara to bleed. Quick first fall for Averno via Devil's Wings, and Mascara snuck out the second fall with a small package. Long third fall, both guys surviving each other's and their own usual finishers, including Mascara kicking after a super Devil's Wings. Mascara finally got Averno with two Devil's Wings and then the campana for the win. Crowd was way behind Averno to start, but at least some of them came around to Mascara by the second fall - mostly a female supporters. Ephesto & Mephesto unmasked Averno, who is Renato Ruiz Cortez, 34 years old, 16 years a wrestler. Averno gave credit to Mascara for being the better man on this day and left without giving interviews to the press. He's got a mohawk, partially dyed white. Mascara celebrates with Brazo de Oro, Maximo and Super Brazo.

Event Notes: Referee Rafa el Maya was shown at the show, now out of the hospital. CMLL was back to having two referees in the ring for matches. Attendance guesses range from 80% to 'all the tickets were sold!'
